I got a A-1 Mixed Appetizer with a lamb kabab sandwich with three falafel. They also include on of their incredibly spicy stuffed eggplants. Everything was delicious: the lamb nicely seared and juicy served with excellent pickled onions and garlics sauce; the oval shaped falafel was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside, very herbaceous. I ordered those because I wanted some texture and crunch, but the mixed appetizer also included baked pita chips, which were real nice My only complaint is that menu said salad but they included stuffed grape leaves which I'm not a fan of. However they were delicious dipped in the hummus and baba ganoush. Only regret is NOT getting more of the spicy eggplant! That's also the bomb dipped I. Humus.

Really delicious Egyptian / middle eastern food! Everything from the shawarma to the falafel to the amazing Hawashe is just great! The stuffed grape leaves are very flavorful and the koshary is nicely made and very enjoyable too! Very reasonable prices and excellent size portions as well. Great food all around.

A-1 delivers large filling portions of flavorful food at a low, low cost. We ordered the beef & lamb shawarma entree & the 1/2 chicken. Both came with rice, pita, a cucumber tomato & herb salad and your choice of sauce. My to go order was so big that they stapled the box closed! I was impressed. My husband and i both had leftovers which never happens. I was surprised to see some Egyptian drinks in the fridge and indulged in an apple malt beverage that tasted like non-alcoholic apple beer. Super tasty! Service was also great. The owner even gave us samples of pita chips and hummus. Both were delicious! I think they make the hummus there. We'll definitely come back to try more apps. Thanks for a great experience!

A hole in the wall place with excellent food! I came into Bayonne for a cruise out of port liberty and after a day of travel I just wanted something hot and easy. I had their chicken shawarma with fries and it was excellent. Fresh pita too! Their place is small so sitting room is very limited. But I had dinner at 6pm on a Friday and I could find a table. But plan accordingly. Tip: if you're not into a bit of a wait for them to make it fresh, just order take out. Otherwise this is an excellent place to stop.

New Owners are very friendly and the shawarma sandwiches with filled with meat. Will try the platters next time.

Loved the food! Simple, unpretentious family owned restaurant that serves all array of Egyptian specialty food. We've tried beef liver, mombar & feteer all these items were very delicious! They also serve food to go. The only draw back was a long wait time for the order. And the interior definitely needs some updates. Otherwise food is good.

I cannot even start!!! Where to begin... I would say the chicken family meal they offer is awesome! It is great for a family of four and I love how everything is fresh and that the food is always hot! Hawawshe it's a pain to wait for but is every bit of worth it in the end this is one of my favorite things to eat from this place! Be sure to order two because when your finished with one You'll want another! The Shawarma sandwiches are tough one to boot again the food is alway hot and fresh I like the amount of salad and dressing to this sandwich it really hits the spot. We always love their mix platter and grape leaves for light snack but also good for lunch. We really love and appreciate this business in the community. Thank you

Great place for a cheap bite. They give you a good amount of food for you buck and we are never disappointed. I recommend getting one of the shareable platters.
